This decision would be hard for an individual because they would have to face people talking about them. Also, if they strongly believed in switching other people would try to persuade them not to switch, so they might have to keep it a secret. The switch would also be difficult for a whole community because there would be conflict between those who believe and those that don't. The community would also loose there culture and power.
