Based on the evidence in the story my impression of the ibo women is that there are very obedient to their husband and kind of felt powerless because of their lack of authority in the household and their living in a patriarchy. They also seem to receive little respect from there husband, or at least with Okonkwo, in the house. Chinua Achebe was limited though because he could not explain the thoughts of the women, seeing as the he was the man in the house, he would not be able to tell how them women felt about the way they were living.
