The Ibo people in the village for the white man invading, because in Okonkwo's opinion they were foolish and let then stay. Okonkwo states "We were amused at his foolishness and allowed them to stay". Okonkwo clearly believes that the village is being punished by losing their power, because they didn't exile the missionaries and they are now losing villagers. I personally do not agree with this perspective, only because i believe the Ibo should convert to Christianity. Also the missionaries did not force the to convert, the villagers switched at there on will.
